Getting Married in Las Vegas

This post is in partnership with Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Are you considering a destination wedding? Or, are you wanting something small & intimate but still want to have a lot of fun with it all? I have the answer for you- get married in Las Vegas! I knew I wanted to get married in Las Vegas before Eric even proposed to me. It wasn’t part of the wedding I maybe thought about as a child or young adult, though I wasn’t really one to daydream about my wedding, but Vegas was a spot I thought about once I got older and getting married was most-likely coming. I knew I didn’t want to have a big, over-the-top wedding but I also didn’t want to just elope or go to the court house. I wanted my wedding to be fun! I wanted my wedding, well maybe I should start saying “our” wedding 😉 , I wanted our wedding to be as stress-free as I could make it. Vegas came into my mind almost instantly. You see those commercials about visiting Las Vegas on tv and everyone looks so happy & go-lucky, that was going to be us!

When considering getting married in Las Vegas you have a few options to choose from. You can go to one of their many different chapels where you can choose from tons of different themes, go to a drive-thru chapel, helicopter wedding,  hotel & casino wedding, or many other options they have out there. We chose a Hotel & Casino Wedding. We could stay with our guests all in the same place where the wedding was being held, the hotel staff handle basically everything for you depending on the package you purchase, and it was the most non-cliché Vegas wedding option. You know what I mean. Most people instantly think Elvis Presley marrying you when they think of a Vegas Wedding, and as fun as that is, I’m not knocking it at all, it just wasn’t what I was looking for. I still wanted a beautiful, some-what classic wedding but with a destination Vegas twist.

Side note, All of this was in the midst of Covid so you’ll see guests, etc in masks and some things may be different based on regulations during the time.

So, with the hotel & casino wedding we chose the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino for our wedding spot. When I think of Vegas, the Flamingo is one of the first few casinos I think of. Plus, if you haven’t seen our Instagram then 1) you should go check it out but 2) we LOVE color! I knew from photos of the Flamingo that it embodied my colorful style the best and my love for pink!

The great thing about the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino is that they have multiple different venues & different wedding package options right on their website you can view. Before I booked anything, I could browse on their site & put together what I wanted very easily. We chose the Gazebo Venue and OMG it was beautiful! Now on their site they even have a Virtual Tour of venue options which is super nice, especially for a bride that wants to know exactly what things look like even though she’s halfway across the country.

Part of the wedding package I chose included a wedding planner & coordinator, which I 100% recommend. With a few emails back & forth, they planned everything for us. All we had to do was show up at the right time, ready to go. The Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino wedding team went above and beyond.

Here’s how our wedding day went:

With the wedding package I selected, I was able to get my hair & makeup done at the salon. It ended up not being the Linq that they advertise with the package because it was still closed due to Covid but we got it worked out for me & my best friend to go to Caesars Palace COLOR Salon. If you’re getting married in Vegas, I totally recommend this place, both of our hair & makeup turned out so great!

Our wedding was planned to start at 6pm and I needed to be there 45 minutes early I think it was. They have a nice building beside the Gazebo venue that the bride & her party wait in. Because we were in the middle of Covid, I was only allowed one person with me and I brought my beautiful daughter/ flower girl. At this time, I was given my bouquet and Cora’s flower basket (if this is part of your package) and the photographer also came in to take some shots of us pre-ceremony. The other thing I really liked was a window in the waiting area that was basically hidden outside with greenery. I could see out to the ceremony space watching my family/friends arriving, Eric standing up front looking nervous haha, but no one could see me back. At this time, the officiant came in to speak with me so we could all be on the same page about the wedding. She made sure I was happy with what she had planned and then worked with us on what we wanted to be included in the ceremony. She then went to Eric outside to go over everything with him too. Eric had to arrive at a certain time & then guests needed to be there I believe it was at least 15minutes before the ceremony started. This was all just to guarantee everything starts on time & runs smoothly. When it was time, the wedding coordinator came to get Cora and I. She helped my 3-year old know what to do walking down the aisle, and then ushered me when I was suppose to go. It was all so smooth and no stress to me as the bride. The Flamingo wedding team was in control and it made our lives sooo much easier. We had a beautiful ceremony and afterwards we had time with our photographer to get shots of us, family, etc.

Due to covid, we weren’t able to have an after-ceremony table with champagne & chocolate covered strawberries like we were suppose to but they did still gift us both items to take back to our room. After we finished with the photographer, I had planned a reception dinner at a restaurant right next door at another Caesar’s location- the Linq Hotel & Casino. The restaurant is called Off The Strip and it was exactly what I wanted. I didn’t want an over-the-top reception but I still wanted a nice dinner we could all enjoy together. We had 15 people total and Off The Strip had a private room upstairs where we were completely secluded from everyone and had a cool window view up there. I mean who wouldn’t want to have a private reception dinner right on the strip?! It was FANTASTIC! And so was the food & service, everything was exactly what I had wanted.

I didn’t have to put too much work into planning our wedding because the Flamingo team took care of everything basically. I didn’t have to stress about making sure this was done or that was done, all we had to do was show up ready to go. It was PERFECTION!

Every guest that attended our Vegas wedding complimented how smooth everything went, how beautiful everything was, and how fun it all was. After the reception dinner, the parents & grandparents went to bed and our younger group went out to have fun on the Vegas Strip. Even during Covid, we had a blast!

Oh and before I forget, we had a BEAUTIFUL room on the top floor of the Flamingo Hotel & Casino. It’s called the Luxury suite and it’s huge! I totally recommend getting a nice suite at the Flamingo when you go. Yes, it’s Vegas and you won’t be in your room a ton but it makes the time in your room 10X better!

So overall, the point of this blog is to share how great our Las Vegas Wedding was and to encourage anyone that’s considering it or trying to find a destination spot, to go ahead and get married in Vegas. The Flamingo Hotel & Casino was beautiful, fun, perfect, and easy. I could go on & on about how happy I am with how it all turned out but I think you probably get it. 🙂
