This post is for all my men & women that have or want invisible aligners. Now to start with my story, I was totally that little girl who wanted braces when I was young. All my friends had braces so I thought it was the cool thing to do 😎 So I begged my mom & at my next dental exam as a child, she spoke to the Dentist about it. Basically at that time the dentist said, it wasn’t 100% necessary. I do remember her saying it would help my smile and all these other cosmetic benefits but as far as really needing them, I wasn’t a candidate. I was bummed as a child. I wanted to have a perfect smile or soon to be perfect smile like my friends. But my parents were the type that they would do anything or everything for me if it was something I had to have. If that Dentist would have said Tiffany needs these for these reasons, I would have got them. Because it was only a cosmetic point and not even a major cosmetic reason my parents didn’t. But once I became older and started hearing more about invisible aligners, I totally had an interest in that. Better late than never, right! So finally in my late 20’s I got the clear aligners that would start my journey to a perfect smile.
If you’ve done any research into braces or aligners you know that discomfort is going to happen. To be quite frank, before getting my own Snap Correct Aligners I didn’t really think about that aspect all that much. I mean I knew it wasn’t going to be the most pleasant experience in the world but I wasn’t betting that I’d have real discomfort with it. I was wrong! It can definitely be frustrating in the beginning getting used to this new feeling, experiencing different discomforts the more you progress/increase aligner steps, and honestly just getting used to not having something in your mouth is hard. When you have Snap Correct clear aligners and I would assume it’s the same with all brands, you’re not allowed or well not advised to chew gum, eat, drink fluids other than water, or anything like that while wearing them. You’re also suppose to wear them for 20-22 hours per day. Going from chewing gum, eating mints, drinking soda, eating candy, all of these things to not easily being able to is rough. Of course, you can eat and drink throughout the day while you have aligners, you just need to remove them so that cuts into your wear time. That’s where my new buddy Dental Movemints come into play. Dental Movemints are the only edible accessory that helps you stay on track with your treatment plan with aligners. Movements are a patented design shaped mint that helps improve the comfort and enjoyment of your smile journey. The shape of them actually helps you perform exercises that help soothe your teeth and gums.
The fact that these Dental Movemints help relieve discomfort from the aligners & it allows me to have something in my mouth is AMAZING! All you do is position the Movemint between your teeth- the shape of them makes this super easy- and bite down gently. It helps keep your aligners tight in place and stimulates blood flow to your teeth and gums. It also helps take the annoying-ness of not being able to chew gum or eat a mint during the day away. Now I get to have something in my mouth while wearing aligners, whooo whooo LOL!! This could totally just be me, maybe it’s just because I experience dry mouth a lot because of certain medications I’m on, but being able to have this in my mouth without effecting my treatment is a huge plus. And to go with that, I’m not a huge water drinker. I know, I know, I should drink more water 😕 , I just really, really dislike it haha! Either way though, the Movemints seriously help me get through each day wearing my aligners!
The taste of them is really good too! They are sugar free and sweetened with Xylitol to promote oral health, freshen breath, and fight dry mouth. Designed by an orthodontist, specifically for people with aligners to help make the journey better! So my overall thoughts, if you have clear aligners, you need Dental Movemints! They are super beneficial and I’m so glad I have them!
